Religious parties oppose postponement of LB polls
He alleged that all the political parties were playing game with the poor people and they did not want that the LB elections were held at all.
Sunni Tehrik spokesman warned that if rigging was not stopped than the LB elections would again prove to be an exercise in futility.
He said that all the parties should get united to mount pressure on the ECP to announce another schedule for LB elections but added that the parties did not seem serious in holding the elections.
Political observers are of the view that despite holding a series of talks both the PPP and the Muttahida could not reach any consensus over the local government system in Sindh. They say that urban and rural divide did not allow these parties to reach any conclusion in this regard, while the nationalist parties use to raise hue and cry whenever PPP gets close to Muttahida.
