There’s none of that stuff like a couple of lines intersecting within a circle to represent a woman carrying a vessel of water on her head or a donkey represented by four circles and some diagonal lines.

 

This is not an exhibition of brain-racking guesswork that makes the viewer rack his brains to the extent that by the time he does figure out the theme, he’s left with no brains. It takes the viewer on an artistic, nostalgic and sentimental sojourn.

 

The exhibition is a collage of landscape paintings which are really soothing to the eye, depicting the land, the people, the customs and life in Myanmar (formerly Burma).

 

The almost 100 paintings on display at the gallery are part of the personal collection of Mrs Shirin Niazi, the president of Pakistan-Myanmar Friendship Association.
