Kiran, Jagan and Babu  blamed for opposing Telangana- Vidya Sagar Rao:

Senior leader of BJP and former Minister, Mr. Ch. Vidya Sagar Rao told that the remarks of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, President of YSR Congress Party on the Speaker of Assembly, Mr. N. Manohar are inappropriate.
Mr. Vidya Sagar Rao was addressing a press conference in Hyderabad yesterday. He blamed C.M. of A.P. Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Kadapa M.P. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP President Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu for opposing the formation of separate Telangana State. They are also opposing it in A.P. Assembly in an unreasonable manner. Mr. Vidya Sagar Rao further told that BJP would contest the general elections of 2014 alone. He also told that the Central leadership of BJP will not take any decision regarding the alliance of BJP with TDP without consulting the State Unit of BJP.

Islamic University in Tirupati unacceptable- Raghuveera Reddy:
Hyderabad , December 27:
State Revenue Minister, Mr. N. Raghuveera Reddy told that all the Seema Andhra leaders should rise above their party levels and oppose the bifurcation of the State and submit affidavits to President of India. He also told that all the MLAs have freedom of expression.
Mr. Reddy told that in the premises of Lord Venkateshwara in Tirupati, the construction of a structure of any other religion is unacceptable. The construction of Islamic University will be opposed because it is against the interests of the Hindus. Govt. is taking necessary action as per rules in this regard. BJP and other parties have already opposed the construction of Islamic University in Tirupati.
Alumni meet of M.J. College of Engineering today:
Hyderabad , December 27:
Alumni Association of Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology will organize its annual meet today at Ghulam Ahmed Auditorium of the College. Mr. Khaja Asif Ahmed, President of the Association has invited all the old students of the college to attend the meeting. Felicitations to the employees retired during 2013 will be done in this meeting.

Minorities budget- Only Rs. 305 crore utilized out of Rs. 1027 crore:
Hyderabad , December 27:
According to Mr. Omer Jaleel, IAS, Special Secretary of the Dept of Minorities Welfare, so far, only Rs. 305 crore have been utilized by the Dept. out of the budget allocation of Rs. 1027 core. He told that due to lack of staff, the allotted amounts could not be utilized. In the office of the commissioner, 69 posts have been sanctioned but only 27 persons were deputed and actually only 9 persons are working.
Mr. Omer Jaleel expressed his anxiety over the non-utilization of the allotted budget. He told that he will visit all the districts from 1st January to review the schemes of scholarships, bank loans and fees reimbursement.
He told that C.M. has sanctioned a scheme which provides loans up to Rs. 2 lakh to unemployed graduates belonging to minorities to start their own business. This scheme includes a subsidy of one lakh but orders have not been issued by the Govt. yet. He avoided the question of construction of new hajj house. He said that Wakf Board has no powers to sell or transfer any wakf property. If Wakf Board provides any wakf property to any other party for commercial purposes, its rights should be with the Wakf Board. He asked the Hajj Committee to request the Govt. to allot land for the construction of new Hajj House.
Fourth major train disaster in Andhra Pradesh in two years:

Hyderabad, December 28:
Saturday's train blaze in Anantapur district is the fourth major disaster in Andhra Pradesh in less than two years.
At least 26 passengers were killed and 15 injured as a coach of the Bangalore-Nanded Express caught fire near Kothacheruvu railway station in Anantapur district, bordering Karnataka, in the early hours of Saturday.
As many as 35 people were killed and 25 were injured when a coach of the New Delhi-Chennai Superfast Express train caught fire near Nellore railway station on July 30 last year.
On May 22, 2012, 25 passengers were killed and 40 injured when the Hubli-Bangalore Hampi Express rammed into a stationary goods train at Penukonda. One of the coaches caught fire on the impact of the collision.
At least eight passengers of the Bokaro Express who pulled the chain in the train to bring it to a halt and alighted on hearing rumours of a fire, were run over by another train in Vizianagaram district Nov 2 this year.
The following are the other major train disasters in the state since 1990.
Oct 10, 1990: 40 people were burnt to death as suspected Maoists torched a passenger train at Cherlapally near Hyderabad.
July 2, 2003: An engine and two adjoining coaches of Guntur-Secunderabad Golconda Express fell off an bridge over a road near Warangal railway station, killing 18 persons.
Oct 29, 2005: Repalle-Secunderabad Delta Fast Passenger train fell into an overflowing stream near Valigonda in Nalgonda district, killing 114 people.
Aug 18, 2006: Five coaches of the Chennai-Hyderabad Express caught fire near Secunderabad railway station. Passengers had a miraculous escape.(IANS)
